Consult and exam
First, we’ll determine if custom orthotics are right for you.
During your initial consult, your podiatrist will perform an exam of your legs, knees, ankles, and feet. They’ll also assess your gait and may perform an x-ray. We’ll get a thorough assessment of your foot health, to create the best orthotics for you.

Casting your orthotics
This is where the custom in custom orthotics comes into play.
Dr. Young obtains a cast of your foot in its ideal position, using a special type of sock. Once your foot is cast, she creates a customized, detailed prescription and your impression is sent to our casting lab.

Step into customized comfort
Your custom orthotics are now ready to wear
Your custom orthotics are usually ready in 2-4 weeks. You’ll visit the office to try them on and we’ll make any adjustments necessary at that time. Then, you’ll wear them for 4-6 weeks to ensure they’re a perfect fit. If not, we’ll work with you to make sure your orthotics are an ideal fit, because we want you to be completely satisfied with your custom orthotics from City Step.
